Act 63

Monday, March 16, 2009.lady-and-grocery-cart

I was back at the store this evening (it seems I go there alot). This time played out a little differently. I had a buggy full of groceries and was checking out at the cashier. Behind me in line was an older lady with her own buggy completely full of groceries. What to do, what to do?

While my groceries were being rung up and bagged, I proceeded to go back and help the lady empty her cart and put her groceries onto the conveyor. This made it easier for her to move through the line and hopefully made her visit to the store a little less of a hassle than it usually is.

Act 5

As you will typically see, on Mondays I will be updating acts from over the weekend. So each Monday will probably bring around 2-3 new RAoKs on the site.

Friday’s act was something that anyone else would have done as well if they were put in the same situation. My father recently spent a few days in the hospital and was released. With any medical issue that requires a hospital stay there is always going to be some ordered down time and rest (not being able to do anything). This aspect of the problem is killing my dad.

But as my mom had been at the hospital over the last few days with my dad, their home was bare of groceries and necessities. The doctor instructed us that my dad wasn’t to be left alone for very long over the first few days from his hospital release. So that is where I stepped in. While my mom went to the store (and got some much needed me time) I spent the evening with my dad reading and watching some television.

It was a good time for all of us. I am happy to report my dad is feeling much better, their fridge is stocked with HEALTHY food for once, and the weekend was off to a great start.
