National Kindness Week, Act 6

Saturday, February 20, 2010, Act 146.

This is about the last day of 2010 National Kindness Week. It was Saturday and the big day for my Grad Studies class presentation. My team and I had put enormous amounts of work into our presentation. I had been dealing with alot of stress and no time because of it.

But after class was over and the presentation was given (quite well I might add), I felt an overwhelming relief. I just wanted to go home and crash and not think or do anything. Even though I was wore out from school and preparation, I wanted to finish Kindness Week strong. What to do, what to do…..

My wife went to the gym for a while that evening, so now was my chance.  I grabbed the vacuum and cleaning spray and dug in to clean our house.  While she was gone, I was able to clean the upstairs and downstairs to surprise her.  A strong finish for Kindness Week and a clean house too!

The Twelve Days of Kindness – Day 11, Act 137

Thursday, December 24, Day 11, Act 137:

My wife had to work today and she had several packages that she still needed wrapped for our family.  Now I’m not the best package wrapper, definitely not as good as her because she does it daily during the holidays at the jewelry store for customers, but if the presents were going to get wrapped by Christmas day and to relieve some of the stress from my wife – these last few presents were going to be wrapped by me.

christmas packageI pulled out the bows, wrapping paper, scissors, and tape and went to work. Wrapping, cutting, trimming the extra left over paper from the packages and strategically placing the bows and tags on the packages.  I took my time carefully wrapping each one.

My wife was appreciative and the packages looked actually really nice (not department store quality, but close), even if I do say so myself.  It helped her not to have to worry about wrapping the last few presents. We were able to get ready that evening and visit family with no rush or stress.  It is going to be happy holidays for sure!

The Twelve Days of Kindness – Day 2, Act 128

Tuesday, December 15, Day 2, Act 128:

After a long day at work, no one wants to go and fight the grocery store crowd for a couple of hours.  But this was my time to shine. My wife has been working long hours during this holiday season and I wanted to take a little something off of her plate.  I created a store list, gathered up some coupons that she had saved, and took off to the store this evening.

It was crowded and it was not that fun, but it was something little that I could do to help out during my wife’s frantic holiday work schedule.

Act 116

This act of kindness is very interesting because it was something that was done for me.

After returning home from an out of town work trip, I was surprised to find my wife had baked and decorated a beautiful cake for my return.  I think she knows me pretty well, because she used extra icing!

Act 101

Thursday, April 23, 2009.

This evening I went to the mall to pick up my grandma a birthday gift. Now this is not the kind act, hopefully anyone would buy their grandmother a birthday gift. Wait for it, wait for it…..lotion

While I was picking up my grandma’s gift, I bought my wife a surprise also. Just something to let her know that I was thinking of her.

Act 98

Monday, April 20, 2009.

This morning when coming back from the gym, it began pouring the rain outside. I was the one originally parked in the garage and my wife’s car was sitting outside in the rain. I know that she hates the rain and being out in it.rain

She was still in bed, so I took the chance to grab her car keys and move her car into the garage for her. I had parked mine outside on the street, and was now moving her car inside the nice and dry garage. She would be dry and happy going to work with not having to walk outside in the rain to get in her car.

Act 89

Saturday, April 11, 2009.

My wife had to work again this Saturday. So what better thing to come home to after a long day at work – a freshly prepared meal, that you didn’t have to cook yourself!dinner

I surprised her with a home-cooked meal on Saturday evening. After she worked all day, came home, and it was sitting on the table waiting for her.
